Great Giftbaskets-FREE!

Giftbaskets are alway a popular gift and you can put together your own for free! I know many of you have surely noticed that I post alot of deals on baby items. Even if you do not have children/babies, you shouldn't ignore these posts. Before I had my daughter and my son was past the "baby" stage, I would still sign up for great baby freebies and samples and it really paid off. The last baby shower I attended, I was able to give the mom-to-be an amazing gift basket that only cost me the price of the container I put it in! I had included in the basket several different brands of diapers. When you sign up for diaper samples, they will often send you 2-3 diapers along with high dollar coupons. I clipped the coupons and stuck them in the basket as well. The mom got 2-3 each of huggies, huggies pure and natural, pampers, white cloud, and luvs diapers. The great thing about this is that diapers are a trial and error kind of deal. You may go through several brands to find one that works for you. I quickly learned with my first child that even if it is super cheap, when you are up at 3am changing crib sheets and bathing your baby because it leaks...it is sooo not worth it. I also included several travel size containers of huggies baby wipes. These are priced around $1 at alot of stores and once i was on Huggie's mailing list, they kept sending me coupons including $1 off any huggies product. For those of you without kids, these are the wipes containers that moms carry in the diaper bag and car. So my grand total at this point is $0. I threw in several diaper rash ointment samples and a couple each of travel sized baby shampoo, wash, and lotions. These were free with the $1 off any Johnson and Johnson product coupons that are out about once a month in the Sunday Paper-just look in the section with all the little travel soaps and stuff at the store....not the baby section. Alot of store bought preassembled gift baskets include these items in travel size. I also signed up for the mailing list at the Enfamil, Similac, Nestle Goodstart, and Member's Mark baby formula websites. When you do this they send you sample cans of formula and really good coupons.  So into the basket went a can of Enfamil Lipil, and the soy version, Similac and the soy version, Goodstart, and Member's Mark formula. I also included all the coupons that came with them. Some of these coupons that came with the items were as much as $10 off any item of a particular brand. I checked at Walmart and quickly discovered that this would get me small containers of ready to feed formula for free, so of course I bought those and put them in the basket.
I think you get the idea by now. I have done the same thing with gift exchanges between various friends and I. We often don't spend much on Christmas for each other but will get each other "a little something". I made a neat gift basket with perfume samples, full size lip gloss, nail polish and things like that--all free!

Here are some samples that might be useful. The girlie items on the last half come in little boxes so they are great for the purse, desk, glove box, and gym bag!

Right now, Pampers is offering a free sample of their newest diaper that isn't even in stores yet! Go to pampers.com and you will see a box on the right side that states, "get a sample".
